Pre COVID-19 usage of smartphones and medical applications among medical students

Background: To determine awareness of medical students that utilize smartphone and their familiarity applications.Methods: The questionnaire-based descriptive study was conducted in December 2019 comprised first year second the CMH Kharian Medical College, Kharian, Nawaz Sharif Gujrat, Gujranwala Mohi-ud-Din Islamic Mirpur. Questionnaires were distributed classrooms filled by anonymously. SPSS 20 used for statistical analysis.Results: Among 770 study, 747 (97%) had smartphones 23 (3%) using simple cell phones. Overall, 362 (47%) smart phone users some apps. Besides, 223 (29%) aware apps but not them. Also, 655 (85%) any type text eBooks through phone, only 115 (15%) relevant phones.Conclusions: A very low among college exists regarding as a gadget improving knowledge.
